Family friendly
Are you curious about riding your bike in the winter but don’t know how? Do you already love to ride your bike in winter? Have you discovered the secret to staying warm and dry?
Whether you’ve been riding a bike in the winter for a long time or are just curious, come join us for the Winter Bike Fashion Show at the Goodman Community Center. Share your expertise, your excitement for winter riding, and celebrate the season with others at a family-friendly event. Winter riders like you and me will be our models and showcase what they wear and do to stay comfortable on the bike during the cold season. In addition to the runway show, there will be plenty of opportunities to chat and ask questions about how to keep riding through the cold season.
Strut Your Winter Stuff

Join us for an afternoon of cold-weather fashion as 12 models strut their winter stuff down the runway. Models will participate in a Q&A about how they continue biking through the coldest months, so come ready with any questions you might have! The event will also feature:
- A humorous reverse strip demonstrating how to gear up for rides from 60˚ F down to -10˚ F.
- An opportunity to practice putting your bike on a Madison Bus bike rack.
- Help kids enjoy safe winter biking or walks to school by bringing winter clothing donations.
- Get your picture taken in your winter biking gear or tell us your best winter biking tips for a short video.
- Mark your commute route on a large map to share with others.
Volunteer with us!
We’re still looking for volunteers to help with the event! If you’re interested, please let us know on our volunteer form.
Bus and bike

Taking the bus for part or all of your trip in winter is viable option for many. But maybe you haven’t done it before and have concerns or question? We will have staff from Metro and even have a Metro bus on site. You’ll be able to practice putting your bike on the bus and ask whatever questions you have.
As always, you can find an overview of all bike events on our Community Bike Calendar. Email us at info@madisonbikes.org to add your events. And if you value our newsletter and other work, consider donating to Madison Bikes. For construction updates, check out the city’s Bike Madison page.
Thanks to our sponsors who make our events possible!
